Will I have to pay fees?
Support For Students Aged 19+
Lincoln College Fee Remission Policy offers means tested and non-means tested help with course fees for qualifications up to and including Level 2 and for some students aged 19+ studying a first Full Level 3
We also offer the Advanced Learner Loan, which is non-means tested help with course fees for Level 3, 4, 5 and 6 Further Education funded courses. Our Learner Support Fund offers means tested help with course related costs such as travel to college, uniform, equipment, UCAS application fee and travel to Higher Education interviews. We offer help with the cost of Ofsted registered childcare through the Care To Learn scheme for students aged under 20 (non means tested) and our 20+ Childcare Support Fund (means tested). We can also provide assistance through the Free College Meals scheme. Students, or their parents, must be in receipt of a qualifying means tested benefit and either aged 19 to 24 and have a current Education and Health Care Plan, or be aged 19 and continuing exactly the same programme that they started before they turned 19. Introduction
ASI (Newark) is an international centre of excellence to train people to
enter the air and space industry. Our training has clear progression routes into
the workplace from Level 2 through to degree-level with jump-off gateways into
several aviation roles.
Our education and training is delivered by industry experts with years of
flying & aircraft engineering experience in the air and space sector. This
exciting new programme is for learners who are intending to work in the
aviation, aerospace and engineering sectors. You will study specific ‘space’
units which could include Applications of Space Technology, Exploring Space, The
Moon Our Nearest Neighbour, Planetary Landscapes and Life on Mars. In addition,
several engineering units will prepare you for your next steps and these may
include Working in Engineering, Principles of Manufacturing Technology and
Maintenance of Mechanical Devices and Equipment.
There will also be a number of enrichment opportunities where you will
partake in exciting trips and visits as well as hear from exciting guest
speakers from industry.

Entry Requirements
You will need to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs, including English Language and/or
Mathematics at Grade 4 or above (an approved Science-based subject is preferable
for progression). On completion of the Level 2 you must have attained GCSE Grade
4 or higher in both Maths and English Language to progress to an ASI L3
programme.
Ideally, you will have already achieved this prior to commencing your
studies, however applications will be considered if you have achieved GCSE Grade
4 in either Maths or English Language and are willing to study either English
Language or Maths alongside your Level 2 curriculum. You will be required to
attend a Welcome Day event (this includes a practical activity and interview)
and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college
report).

Assessment and Progression
Assessment is a combination of internally and externally assessed units. The
qualification has been designed to prepare students for a future role within the
aviation and aerospace industry in an engineering role. Progression to one of
our ASI L3 programmes.

Fees
Fees listed are for those aged 19 years and over only. Fees are subject to
change, concessions may apply. Please note that where stated, fees are for the
first year of a course only. Please contact us for information and

What You Will Need To Bring
You will require workwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from our
preferred online supplier (safety footwear and safety glasses can be purchased
locally). You will need general stationery equipment and a scientific
calculator. You will also require access to the internet; PCs are available on
campus. In addition, you will also be required to purchase an ASI uniform from
our preferred online supplier.
