Will I have to pay fees?

Support For Students Aged 19+

Lincoln College Fee Remission Policy offers means tested and non-means tested help with course fees for qualifications up to and including Level 2 and for some students aged 19+ studying a first Full Level 3

We also offer the Advanced Learner Loan, which is non-means tested help with course fees for Level 3, 4, 5 and 6 Further Education funded courses. Our Learner Support Fund offers means tested help with course related costs such as travel to college, uniform, equipment, UCAS application fee and travel to Higher Education interviews. We offer help with the cost of Ofsted registered childcare through the Care To Learn scheme for students aged under 20 (non means tested) and our 20+ Childcare Support Fund (means tested). We can also provide assistance through the Free College Meals scheme. Students, or their parents, must be in receipt of a qualifying means tested benefit and either aged 19 to 24 and have a current Education and Health Care Plan, or be aged 19 and continuing exactly the same programme that they started before they turned 19. Introduction
If you want to pursue a career in the travel and tourism industry then this is an excellent place to start. This 'new' course will provide you with the specialist knowledge, skills and understanding relating to the travel and tourism sector, over a 2 year course. It covers areas such as preparing for a career, customer service, travel agency operations and tour guiding, which can be applied to current or future employment in a variety of roles. The content has been developed with employers, subject experts and Tutors to ensure that it’s relevant to the real world and meets the need of employers. The qualification provides the basis for you to progress into employment within the travel and tourism sector, or support progression into an Apprenticeship or into higher level studies, as it has UCAS points. You’ll complete 3 mandatory units; The UK travel and tourism industry; Customer service in travel and tourism; Preparing for a career in travel and tourism; as well as units such as; Travel and tourism destinations; UK visitor attractions; Hospitality in travel and tourism; Travel agency operations; Marketing for travel and tourism; Resort representative roles and responsibilities; UK airports; Worldwide passenger airlines; The cruise industry; UK heritage tourist attractions; Business travel; and Tour guiding. Completion of this programme of study can lead to a number of roles in employment such as; There are a number of roles that you can progress to in travel and tourism, such as; Travel Consultant; Tour Operator; Event Manager; Business Travel; Resort Representative; Purchasing Assistant; Cruise Ship Worker.

Entry Requirements
You will need 4 GCSEs Level 9-4 or equivalent (including a Level 4 and above in either English or Maths). You must demonstrate an interest in Travel, Tourism, Aviation or Leisure. You will be required to attend a Welcome Day and provide a reference (from an employer or recent School / College report).

Assessment and Progression
Assessment is varied and includes internally set assignments.
