More information about this Course

Introduction
This course is designed to support learners that wish to progress on a T Level in Health, but are currently not quite in that position to do so. With our new facilities, you will be able to experience a specialised working environment whilst at college, with some state of the art equipment to support you. This course will give you the necessary opportunities to improve your GCSE English or Maths grades, help you build greater confidence of your practical ability whilst completing an industrial placement and build on your theoretical knowledge within the Health sector.

Entry Requirements

Assessment and Progression
During the course you will be assessed in a number of ways. You will work to completion of the Care certificate which is an industry recognised qualification to allow you work in the care sector. This will be assessed through theoretical, practical and observation in the workplace. You will also be assessed via examination when conducting the GCSE English or Maths qualifications on the programme. Upon successful completion of the Transition programme you will be able to progress onto the T Level Health and Science.

Study Details
Whilst on the Transition programme, you will conduct industry placement work experience whilst also completing an employer set project. The English or Maths aspect of your study will comprise of a generalised session as well as a contextualised session written in accordance to things you will most commonly associate within the Health sector. Throughout the Health knowledge aspect of the course, you will both theoretically and practically study the following units as well as many more: • Duty of Care • Equality and Diversity • Communication • Privacy and Dignity • Fluids and Nutrition • Awareness of Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Difficulty • Basic Life Support • Infection Prevention and Control

What You Will Need To Bring

We expect you to attend the course 100%, and upon arrival at college, be prepared with your stationery, ready to learn.
