Support For Students Aged 19+
Lincoln College Fee Remission Policy offers means tested and non-means tested help with course fees for qualifications up to and including Level 2 and for some students aged 19+ studying a first Full Level 3
We also offer the Advanced Learner Loan, which is non-means tested help with course fees for Level 3, 4, 5 and 6 Further Education funded courses. Our Learner Support Fund offers means tested help with course related costs such as travel to college, uniform, equipment, UCAS application fee and travel to Higher Education interviews. We offer help with the cost of Ofsted registered childcare through the Care To Learn scheme for students aged under 20 (non means tested) and our 20+ Childcare Support Fund (means tested). We can also provide assistance through the Free College Meals scheme. Students, or their parents, must be in receipt of a qualifying means tested benefit and either aged 19 to 24 and have a current Education and Health Care Plan, or be aged 19 and continuing exactly the same programme that they started before they turned 19. Introduction
Are you looking to become a very handy and skilled tradesperson? Are you
great at practical tasks? Maybe woodwork was your thing at school or you’ve
completed a Level One or Two course. If you think this sounds just like you,
this course could be for you.
The Level Three Advanced Technical Diploma in Bench Joinery is a continuation
from the Level Two programme and will ensure you develop your skills whilst
maintaining a high standard. You will explore and develop the concept of both
designing and producing Bench Joinery products. This course aims to provide you
with the opportunity to embrace complexity and push your skill level
further.
On this course, you will study, design, research, develop and finish Bench
Joinery products. This course includes practical and theoretical elements of
Carpentry and Joinery, providing you with the underpinning skills and knowledge
to progress you through topics at an appropriate level. This course will also
offer you support, preparing you for work in the construction industry.
During the course, you’ll study:
- Tooling and techniques
- Setting out and marking
- Manufacturing bench joinery tasks

Entry Requirements
You will ideally have some previous Carpentry and Joinery knowledge, and
experience or completed a Level 2 related course.

Assessment and Progression
Assessment: You will be assessed on practical and theory elements, through
product creation and written and online tests.
Progression: Successful completion of Level Three could lead to potential
careers including working within the construction industry or working as a Bench
Joiner.

change. Support for fees may be available, such as fee remission or the Advanced
Learner Loan.

What You Will Need To Bring
You'll need workwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from our
preferred supplier. Additionally, you'll need general stationery equipment and
access to the Internet; PCs are available on campus.
