Support For Students Aged 19+
Lincoln College Fee Remission Policy offers means tested and non-means tested help with course fees for qualifications up to and including Level 2 and for some students aged 19+ studying a first Full Level 3
We also offer the Advanced Learner Loan, which is non-means tested help with course fees for Level 3, 4, 5 and 6 Further Education funded courses. Our Learner Support Fund offers means tested help with course related costs such as travel to college, uniform, equipment, UCAS application fee and travel to Higher Education interviews. We offer help with the cost of Ofsted registered childcare through the Care To Learn scheme for students aged under 20 (non means tested) and our 20+ Childcare Support Fund (means tested). We can also provide assistance through the Free College Meals scheme. Students, or their parents, must be in receipt of a qualifying means tested benefit and either aged 19 to 24 and have a current Education and Health Care Plan, or be aged 19 and continuing exactly the same programme that they started before they turned 19. Introduction
Do you want to work in the Aerospace Industry? Are you great at practical
tasks, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to problem solve? If so, this
course could be for you.
ASI (Newark) is an international centre of excellence to train people to
enter the air and space industry. Our training has clear progression routes into
the workplace from Level Two through to degree level with jump-off gateways into
several aviation roles.
Our education and training is delivered by industry experts with years of
flying & aircraft engineering experience in the air and space sector. This
exciting new programme is for learners who are intending to work in the
aviation, aerospace and engineering sectors.
There will also be a number of enrichment opportunities where you will
partake in exciting trips and visits as well as hear from exciting guest
speakers from industry.
During this course, you’ll study:
Applications of Space Technology
Exploring Space
The Moon Our Nearest Neighbour
Planetary Landscapes and Life on Mars
Working in Engineering
Principles of Manufacturing Technology
Maintenance of Mechanical Devices and Equipment

Entry Requirements
You’ll need to have a minimum of four GCSEs, including English Language
and/or Maths at Grade Four or above (an approved Science-based subject is
preferable for progression). On completion of Level Two, you must have attained
GCSE Grade Four or higher in both Maths and English Language to progress to an
ASI Level Three programme.
Ideally, you will have already achieved this before starting your studies,
however, applications will be considered if you have achieved GCSE Grade Four in
either Maths or English Language and are willing to study either English
Language or Maths alongside your Level Two curriculum.
You will be required to attend a Welcome Day event (this includes a practical
activity and interview) and provide a reference (from an employer or recent
school/college report).

Assessment and Progression
Assessment: Assessment is a combination of internally and externally assessed
units.
Progression: The qualification has been designed to prepare you for a future
role within the aviation industry as a pilot. After you have graduated you can
progress onto the ASI Newark BSc (Hons) Pilot degree course.

Fees listed are for those aged 19 years and over only. Fees are subject to
change. Support for fees may be available, such as fee remission or the Advanced
Learner Loan.

What You Will Need To Bring
You’ll need general stationery equipment and a scientific calculator. You’ll
also need access to the Internet; PCs are available on campus. In addition, you
will also be required to purchase an ASI uniform from our preferred online
supplier.
